The Rev. Dr. Christian Dominic Boyd brings over twenty years of experience in organizational development, consulting for non-profits, UN-accredited global socio-economic development NGOs and IGOs, and educational programs. He is a highly skilled strategist adept at applying tactics in planning, development, and operational processes to achieve both short—and long-term goals and ensure organizational growth and sustainability. Dr. Boyd has extensive experience directing personnel and managing projects across multiple sites and global locations.
As an ordained Presbyter and Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), the daughter of the Church of Scotland, Dr. Boyd serves as the full-time Pastor of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Waukesha, WI, and as the Stated Clerk for the Presbytery of Milwaukee. As Stated Clerk, one of the two chief ecclesiastical officers at the regional church level, he oversees and advises on ecclesiastical constitutional law and the judicial process. He also serves at the General Assembly level on the Advisory Committee on the Constitution, which reviews all proposed legislation and advises the denomination on policy and polity. Additionally, Dr. Boyd has been elected to serve on the Episcopal (Anglican) Presbyterian Ecumenical Dialogue team, working towards Full Communion.
Dr. Boyd's international service is a testament to his commitment to humanitarian development and his global perspective. He serves on the Board of the Oheneba Foundation (Ghana) and is the Managing Director and Treasurer for the Oheneba Foundation USA, Inc. He is also the Chief Administrative Officer for the Royal House of Ghassan, recognized by the Republic of Lebanon, and has special consultative status with the United Nations.
Dr. Boyd’s educational background is extensive and diverse, providing a comprehensive view of his academic qualifications and areas of expertise. His education includes Graduate Certificates in Mediation and Negotiation (Northwestern University) and Paralegal Studies (George Mason University); a DMin in Congregational Mission and Leadership, Organizational Development (Luther Seminary); an MDiv in Practical Theology and Pastoral Leadership (Louisville Seminary); and a BA in World Literature (Truman State University). He has also completed coursework in public leadership at Harvard Kennedy School, diplomacy, and human rights through the Global Diplomatic Forum (London) and the U.S. Institute of Diplomacy and Human Rights (Washington, D.C.).
He holds several certifications, including Certified Non-Governmental Organization Professional, Certified Development Executive, Certified Nonprofit Executive, and Certified Nonprofit Consultant (National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives). He is also a Financial Industry Regulatory Authority Dispute Resolution Arbitrator (rostered in Milwaukee, WI).
Last, but not least, Christian is married to Dr. Karen Selbert, who is a veterinarian with an emphasis on urgent care and animal behavior. Christian and Karen live in the Waukesha township and have eight fuzzy, four-legged children (Brenna the Greyhound, Teig the Border Collie, Helen the Borzoi, Emily the Whippet, Oengus the Border Collie, Phillip the Border Collie, and the dangerous-duo cats, brother and sister, Joshua and Coralline). For fun, Christian is a trained bartender and an amateur chef.
